Who is Europe’s “Silicon Valley”?

While you may presume that countries such as Germany of France are the Silicon Valleys of Europe, you may be surprised to know that it is actually Dublin in Ireland due to the amount of technological centers they have.

Dublin is the capital of Ireland and has been inhabited since pre-historic times, it was established by the Vikings back in the ninth century and the famous Dublin Castle was the center for English power in the early 1200’s.

It wasn’t until the 1990’s that Dublin started to improve and became larger with many private and state developments in both business and transport. Dublin is now the place to go if you want to get a masters in communications or a masters in nursing, due to the number of fantastic colleges and universities that they have.

Today Dublin is considered the fourth richest city in the world and the tenth richest city in terms of personal income, but at the same time it’s the thirteenth most expensive city to live in the European Union.

There are over 800,000 people employed in Dublin, six hundred thousand of these people are employed in the services industry and two hundred thousand are employed in the industrial industry. Some have a masters in library science while others have finished online masters degree programs.

The Greater Dublin Area is home to Global Pharmaceutical Companies and Information and Technology companies, which in turn have made Dublin the Silicon Valley of Europe.

The IT companies you can expect to find in Dublin include some of the biggest names such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, EBay, PayPal, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter and Pfizer.

It seems this is the perfect place to find an unlock htc phone or apply to criminal justice schools as there is no shortage of colleges and universities with the Dublin Institute of Technology, Dublin Business School and the New Media Technology College.

As you watch people walking their dogs in the beautiful parks you realize that large corporations such as Hewlett Packard and Intel have manufacturing plants just outside the city, this is a city alive with technology.

For anyone wanting a masters in health administration this is probably the place to go, besides the fantastic universities and colleges, there are so many opportunities if you are interested in information technology.

From a country who has struggled through the years, suffered with severe depressions and financial problems to the booming economy it has today, it’s a welcome to anyone who wants to enjoy what this city has to offer.

As college leavers complete their IT degrees, it’s often to Ireland that they travel to join some of the largest IT companies in the world and take part in history as technology continues to grow and improve on a daily basis. Whether you start in the manufacturing plants of HP or Intel and move your way up to work for PayPal or Yahoo, the possibilities are endless for anyone who has a passion for IT.
